Buffet 101

102 at 101. What better way to celebrate 102 months but to go to a buffet!

Being food lovers that we are, we tried the newest buffet in town -- Buffet 101. Those who have tried it said that they offer more variety than Marco Polo's Cafe Marco. So off we went!

Buffet 101 opens at 11:00 AM, just in time for lunch. You will be greeted by very courteous, polite, and accommodating hosts as they direct you to your table. I was overwhelmed by the size of the restaurant. It was big and airy. With their seating arrangement, you are literally surrounded by food.

After what felt like a looooot of servings, Pete and I were debating as to which of the two -- Cafe Marco or Buffet 101 -- offers more variety of food. Pete was fixed on his vote for Buffet 101 for the mere fact that he has had 5 plateful rounds (and so full he can barely move!) but he still hasn't tried all sections. I, on the other hand, was on the fence.

I'm no photographer so the pictures do not really give justice to the size of the place and their various food selection.
The best way to know is to try it out yourself. It is worth your 600/pax ( for lunch).

My HK2

Chasing the storm.

semi-overcast

My second Hong Kong trip with Chubby was an exhilirating one. The day of our departure (August 14) was the actual day when typhoon Labuyo was on its way to China. With the odds on our favor, the flight was not cancelled. In fact it left on time. I can still remember the turbulence as we descended to Hong Kong International Airport. Everybody was buckled up and was silent. The tension was high and suddenly an applause bursted when we finally landed. Eveybody was cheering!

There were only a few people at the airport. It seemed like we were the only ones who arrived. Oh well, at least we didn't have to wait and stand in line for immigration for a long time. :) Since the storm signal in HK was up, the only mode of transportation from the airport to the city was Airport Express. The buses and taxis were cancelled. So aboard the Airport Express we went. After 3 train rides, we finally reached our destination - Mongkok. We thought this time to stay at the heart of Kowloon and see more. We were amazed.

We stayed in Dragon Hostel. The room was decent. Small and clean. There was barely room to move around but we made do. The owner was nice and the hostel was strategically located near coffee shops, restaurants, stores, and bus/train stops.

Though it was already our second time in HK, we were still giddy and full of excitement. We promised to go to the places where we haven't visited during our first visit. We visited museums, chilled at the Avenue of the Stars, enjoyed Disneyland, and many more. We even walked from Prince Edward to Tsim Sha Tsui to watch the Symphony of Lights. Then we realized it's not even that far! :):) Special thanks to Sketchers Go Walk shoes! Superb!

It was gloomy but it rarely rained. And when it did, the rain didn't ruin our vacay at all.

Musts in Gen San.

Feb 17, 2013 - Bo's Coffee Banilad

Thanks to Cebu Pacific for pioneering the lowest price for travel! Now, indeed every Juan can fly.

My boyfriend and travel buddy booked the Gen San trip ( well, actually it's Cebu-Davao ) because he planned to buy a whole tuna fish and have it cooked in different dishes. Well, isn't Gen San known for its tuna? Then, it's a MUST to try! :)

Since that's for something to be done and experienced soon, let me experience Bo's Coffee's newest addition to their menu - Raspberry Truffle Latte- for now.

Where's Wandergurl headed to this year?

I've given up on New Year's Resolution. Why? Coz everytime I have one, I ended up not following it at all!

So for this year, I told myself that I will do everything I want to do. This is not me making a New Year's resolution but a promise to self. No matter what it takes I shall have it my way.

So..le'ts start with my first love -- TRAVELLING. I have all my flights booked and confirmed. All I need to do is PRAY that I will be allowed to go on LEAVE on those dates.. please..please..

Where to?

June 30 - July 3: Palawan Escapade with fam and friends!
August 13 - 17: Hong Kong Invasion Part 2
September 13 - 16: Tuna-all-you-can at Gen San City

Then I realized, I won't have time to save in between my trips! Oh my!

But what the heck. If it is to be, it is up to me.

Welcome ME back!

rain 29 °C

It's been years since I've written my last entry. My fault, I've been procrastinating for the past years. However this year, I plan ( and I will ) make this my 'make things happen' year. There are times when I feel nostalgic every time I read blogs or I see some creative writings. It makes me wanna go back to one of the things I love doing - writing.

Now, it's time to crack my knuckles and start doing things. I will not let anybody stop me. It's one of the things I realized over the past years. If you want something, work in achieving it and don't stop until you get it. Don't worry, I don't mean the bad stuffs. I will not harm myself nor others ( though it's fun to be crazy sometimes.. lol). It's just gonna be pure, unadulterated blogging.

Welcome me back!
